  What’s PAS?

Held bi-annually, Pro Audio Showcase events provide an all too rare opportunity for New Zealand's audio professionals of all persuasions (including students and trainees), to get together as an industry. Meet the local pro audio equipment and service suppliers, discuss your own special requirements, watch hands-on demonstrations and discover solutions.  Expect to find lots of great new gear, a demo room, plenty of local industry knowledge and also some international brand representatives on the display stands.
Specialist rental service providers Sound Techniques have a series of demonstrations planned for their stand. Sound Devices MixPre-6 recorder  is one of their key new products and local legend Larry Elliott of Vivante Recording will be talking about the fun of using it in two Thursday sessions – at 11am and 2pm.
Rycote's Regional Sales Manager, Mark Grooby will also be on hand, as will a bounty of other new kit, including Lectrosonics’ Venue 2, SSM miniature transmitter, WM transmitter, SMQV, IFB, PDR personal digital recorder.

Murray Tregonning and Associates (NZ Ltd) will be releasing the brand new LaON LT750 Series Digital Wireless Intercom system. The LT750 operates in the 5 GHz band. It features 5 independent channels on each Belt Pack and can accommodate up to 11 signals in full duplex at any one time, all at 7.5Khz bandwidth audio.
The LaON LT750 also supports the use of multiple Remote Base Stations for extended range into those hard to access areas.
One of several new product highlights from Livesound will be the Quest Engineering MX monitor series. The ultra-compact MX601 & MX801 are high-fidelity weatherproof loudspeakers that allow architects and venue designers to create a seamless full range audio presence, without compromising on aesthetics. The range is based around a 6” or 8”, two-way, full range, wall or ceiling mountable loudspeaker, with ceiling speaker versions also available.

There’s plenty of interesting new equipment on the Showtechnix stand, led out by the latest DiGiCO SD12, SD9 and S31 consoles. The international DiGiCo trainer guy, Alvin, will be on hand for demos and questions.
Showtechnix will also be showing new Theatrixx xVision video converters, plus the latest Eurocable hybrid connectors and cables, fibre and more. In the Demo Room they will be running the NEXO id24 and PS15/RS18.
